Wine Tour in Franciacorta

The Franciacorta wine area is the one best known because of its very notorious wines. It is located in the hills of Brescia, Lombardy. The name Franciacorta has rather bizarre origins, dating back to ancient times and linked to various legends and stories passed down from generation to generation. According to one of these legends, Charlemagne, who came to this area in what is now Bergamo, fell in love with it because of its similarity to his homeland and named it Francia Corta.
